If you’re a cat lover, you like coffee a lot, and you’re looking for a place to relax and play with adorable cats. This is the best place for you. Le Cat Coffee Shop is the first cat cafe located south of Metro Manila where people, cats, and coffee come together. This coffee shop owned and operated by a family of cat lovers.

Perhaps, you’re just wondering why I created a blog post for Le Cat Coffee Shop? I am also wondering why. Well, my answer is “why not?” Everything under the sun can be one of my topics of this blog site, right? Well, to be honest, let’s just keep it as a secret, I was obliged by my younger sister, Andre, to create a blog post with her. So her picture can be posted on my blog site. No, just kidding. Madj and I would also like to try something different. Some place that we haven’t been before. We’ve checked reviews about this place from its Facebook page and some blogs and we decided to go not just because of good reviews from their guests but also because this is the first cat cafe located south of Metro Manila. So, there you go.

Anyways, just a quick trivia, I’m not a pet lover. Never been a pet owner. Though, I adore and love playing with pets like dogs, cats, and birds or even mouse but I’m absolutely not the type of a person who loves taking good care of them, feed them, bathe them, spend a lot of time with them, and the likes. I know that there are lots of advantages of having one but it seems like it doesn’t even crossed my mind at all. It’s really not my thing though for now, I daresay. But let’s see what will happen.

Goofing around with Andre

As I can see about Andre’s interests and opinions about pets. I believe that we’re worlds apart. Andre loves pets and loves going to this kind of place such as cat café and dog café. If there’s any pet cafés out there, I think, she’ll definitely put it on her list as well. She’s the one who convinced and asked us to go to this place. Since Madj and I have nowhere to go and we don’t have any plans or adventure on that day, we decided to join with her. Madj and I also would also like to go to a place where we can relax and try something different.

When we arrived the place, it’s already 7 o’clock in the evening. There were only three groups inside the coffee shop. Two groups were inside the cafe area. One group was inside the cat lounge. We thought that we might arrived the place full of guests but we were wrong.

Wearing our comfy Uniqlo low cut socks. Thank you Uniqlo! That’s the reason why there are no cats around our place.

We took off our shoes. In the cat lounge, you can wear off your socks or you can choose to barefoot. Madj and I opted to still wear our socks on and wear house slippers they provided.

Before we can finally enter the cat lounge, we need to take note of all the rules of the Le Cat house and lounge.

We also need to order before we could enter the cat lounge. So we ordered the following :

Here’s the list of what we ordered (Hopefully, I listed it right):

  • Iced Pepermint Mocha
  • Iced Caramel Macchiato
  • Iced Dark Chocolate Mocha

We ordered iced beverages so we could stay for two hours. I think, that’s the maximum time you can spend at the place. Therefore, we stayed at the coffee shop from 7PM to 9PM.

Cat is a lion in a jungle of small bushes. – Indian Proverb

Are we cats or lions?

The moment when we arrived, we observed that the place is not as big as we’ve expected but the area of the place is fair enough for the cats. It felt like we were inside an extraordinary place where cats dominate the entire room. How cool is that? It’s true that photos are deceiving. This comes the reality vs. expectations. When we observed the whole place, we can’t even count the number of the cat’s images, things and symbols around the area. But if we would guess, It’s more than a hundred.

Our time to relax and play.

Getting to Know the Cats :

When we arrived the place, we were very clueless with their names. We can hardly say their names and distinguish their differences. Things get a little bit confusing. Good thing, there’s a “kodigo” or “cheat sheet” placed on the wall. The Cat’s Portrait. Thanks!

All the cats were lovely and furfectly adorable. Got our favorites! Here’s the list.

  • Caramel : Ragamuffin, Male, February 10, 2015 – He loves to join and play with us. He’s the fattest cat in the room. That makes him the most huggable cat in this room too.

  • Almond Napoleon, Male, September 20, 2015 – He looks like Tom of Tom and Jerry. His shyness makes you love him more. His eyes were very expressive. I don’t know how he does that but that’s what makes him looks mysterious.

  • Charlie : Puspin, Male, April 15, 2015 – He’s the first cat who welcomes us with open arms. He can be your protector and your guardian. Look at him! He looks strong and durable.

Being in a place where full of adorable cats have been one of the extra ordinary feelings that we’ve experienced. Playing with cats gave us more deep connections with them. Seeing them that they are fairly treated by their owners is the most affectionate thing we’ve seen on that day. Within two hours of stay from this coffee shop, we’ve learned so many things about cats. Thank you Le Cat Coffee Shop for sharing it with us.
